Sucarnochee Revue Mother’s Day Matinee May, 2024
All of the Artists on The Sucarnochee Revue Sunday Matinee May 12th have all made their marks in the Music Business.
2nd Mile has entertained Southern Gospel Music audiences for many, many years; Mississippi Chris Sharp is one of the very top artists on the respected Silverwolf Music Folk label. His daughter, Piper Sharp Myers has made her own mark as a brilliant harmony singer, and writer; Britt Gully has entertained all over this country, and England. Britt currently has two charted hits. “Davy Had the Difference,” on the Americana Chart, and “Let It All Hank Out,” on the Independent Country Chart. Tyler Carroll and Pine Ridge recently released their debut CD, “Here We Go Again,” featuring the songs of Roy Acuff, Johnny & Jack, The Monroe Brothers Lester Flatt, and Jimmie Rodgers.Tyler has been with the Revue since he was a teenager. His group has entertained festivals, and concert audiences all over the South; Bill Pippin is a premier keyboardist who plays all genres of music. He’s backed up many major stars, and continues to produce his own instrumental tracks; while still young. Jonathan Quigley and My Saviour Story have released many influential Contemporary Christian CD’s, and videos the last dozen years. Great musicians with an Eternal Purpose, and Message; Aiden Mehki Williamson is a young man establishing himself as a singer/guitarist with an encyclopedic repertoire of songs. He leans toward Country in delivery, and appearance. But, there’s not many songs he doesn’t know by heart. A unique Talent; Both Carl Ray, and Delnora Reed Acuff have been my friends for many years. I’m just getting reacquainted with Delnora. She started out as a very in demand session singer in Nashville when I lived and recorded there. Carl recorded my song,”One More Sunset,” produced by our mutual friend, Wood Newton about the time we started The Revue. Since then, Carl has had three #1’s, and is currently #1 with “The Old Rugged Cross,” a duet with Bluegrass legend, Rhonda Vincent. Delnora has won several major awards as a Christian Country artist, and is currently nominated for five more. Her self-penned, “Thankful” is almost certain to become a standard in Christian music. Jacky Jack White started charting songs as a songwriter in 1985 with Ray Stevens’ “People’s Court.” His “If I Didn’t Love You” was an international hit on Steve Wariner thirty years ago. It’s currently a top Bluegrass radio hit on the wonderful Jana Mougin. Jack’s charted two dozen hits as a writer, and as a performer over his long career.
These are the artists you can see for a $10 ticket as we are honored to kickoff The Annual Jimmie Rodgers Festival in Downtown Meridian. We are proud to be associated with one of the most influential artists in American Music History.
